I’m pretty sure I’m a fairly even mix, as every time I’ve taken a personality test I’ve gotten different results, but the 16 personalities one gave me Advocate, INFJ, which, funnily enough, is one of the less athletically-inclined options. I am a natural athlete and lifelong sportsman, ran sprints through high school, volleyball, and am going for collegiate boxing in a few weeks! That being said I’ve always struggled more with the mental aspect than the physical, getting extremely nervous before athletic events, etc. But somehow I perform better under pressure and pull through when needed, so if I can get over the mental aspect I know I can be even better!

    i like the topic.

As far as I’m concerned, the greatest athletes in every sport i watch (Especially Basket Ball, soccer & Tennis) have Se as one of their first two functions.
Michael Jordan (ISTP), Kove Bryant (ESTP), LeBron (ESFP), and in soccer: Maredona (ESTP), Messi (ISTP), Ronaldo (ESFP). Tennis: Federer (ISFP), Nadal (ISTP), djokovic (ESTP).

One point I want to make is, from watching basketball I see some legendary players that are not dominant or secondary extroverted sensors.
For example Tim Duncan (INTP) and Dirk Nowitzki(ENFJ). they had fantastic careers but if you look carefully to their playing style you can see they are not the explosive and aggressive kind of athletes, it’s just mastering specific moves and doing them consistently so they become great. Although I think a good factor is their size, 6’11 and above! And that helps a lot in such a sport.

Anyway I agree that Se types are naturally better at sports.
    Thanks a lot :)

I am an INTP and I choke everytime I do public speaking.

The funny things is I am a star in class, I am always the student who does most of the talking, the student who engages the professor and enter into a dialogue with the prof but as soon as I get up and face the other students I choke.

Back in my younger days I had to be the host of an event. I had two college students standing next to me, one on my left and the other on my right, while I introduced the performers and during the whole event I messed up my lines, screwed up names it was horrible.

The thing is I was perfectly fine and confident but as soon as I got up on stage something unknown came over me and before I knew it it was too late, the show had to go on.

A while back I took a public speaking class and I never choked, in fact I was the star but that was the only time I never choked. Maybe I did good because I was aware of it, I knew I was going to go up there and deliver a speech but then again in my “organizational behavior” class I knew at the end of the class I had to go up and give a speech with my group.

I choked when I gave a speech with my group in my “organizational behavior” class.
As a host I choked when I was up there with the two college students during the event.
But I never choked when I was in front of the class alone delivering my speech.
Well I did get some positive feedback from the other students in the speech class…

If you are reading this please provide some feedback because the nervousness is something I can’t sense or anticipate it just overcomes me.
