This comment is for anyone who struggles with Clarity around working out, specifically.

I have been using Renaissance Periodization’s (RP Strength) diet and weightlifting programs for about 2 or 3 years now. I was in the difficult place of recovering from giving birth to my 6th child. I was not comfortable in my body and I needed something. I began researching for an answer. I came across RP Strength and it struck a chord with me. I was so successful with losing weight, I am now purposefully gaining weight in order to build muscle through the same program. Following these cycles I am changing my entire body composition over time.

Check it out. They have many resources, specifically the Diet App and/or Simple Diet Templates.

If this sort of thing works for your personality, it will be such a win. Their motto is “Science is Stronger.” It works, it gives you a percentage metric for monitoring compliance, it has 3 kinds of diets – Weight Loss, Maintenance, and Muscle Building (which does include lifting weights). Each diet you do for a specified period of time (usually 6-12 weeks. I’ve never gone longer than 7 weeks for weight loss), hence getting rid of that awful feeling of having to do something until you die. Even if it is difficult, you know it is only for a set period of time. It also provides a weight loss or gain goal and rates the difficulty of your choice so you can know what to expect.

For SO many reasons, specifically the inherent measurable goals involved, it may just give the clarity you need to move forward on your health journey. If you have the resource of money, they even have a 1-on-1 coaching program.

The RP people are basically the Joel and Antonia of diet and exercise.

In addition, on their Facebook page they regularly post quotes or memes to hammer home truths, that are very encouraging. You do not need to give up your humanity to change your body. I print them out and hang them up around the house.

You will need to do a little research to know if it is for you and to really understand what I am saying. They have tons of information online and on YouTube. Maybe it will be a good fit. I am an INTJ and a huge RP Strength fan. My husband is most likely an ENFP or ENTP and it is the first diet he’s been successful on body change wise (not to mention eating SO much more healthily) specifically because it allows for phases and is not some eternal state. We also workout together, that is huge for both of us. If you do it, I HIGHLY recommend taking pictures to monitor your progress, even though it might feel awkward, they are very encouraging!

I know that is super specific to working out; hopefully it is helpful.

BTW, I thought the information in this podcast was excellent. I am going to listen again and take notes.

I’m going to check this out. Husband is INTJ, I am ENTP. This may work for us both.
Also love this episode. I feel very bored and stuck in so many areas of life.
