Enneagram Type 9 Explained

Enneagram Type 9 is sometimes called “The Peacemaker” or “The Mediator.”

This is at the very top of the Enneagram symbol, and it’s the core point of the three body-base types.

Each of the three types in the anger or body-base triad is going to be structured or shaped by their relationship to anger in some way.

Enneagram 9 Types a more easygoing and self-deprecating. These types easy to get along with, friendly, agreeable. Someone who goes with the flow.

The basic strategy of the Type 9 is to go along with other people’s agendas.

This is someone who wants to create harmony, that pays attention to what’s going on with other people in the environment, and avoids conflict. Someone who doesn’t like conflict, because conflict feels like it creates separation.

In a basic way Enneagram 9 Types are about union, and merger, and connecting with people. Not so much exactly in an emotional way, although it can be emotional, but especially on the level of being, on the level of being connected to people, almost in a physical sense.

Key Challenges of The Type

It can be challenging to be near them or feel connected to them. Type 9 tends to unconsciously or automatically adapt to others. They can over-adapt and lose track of what they want or what their priorities are or what their agenda is.

The key challenges for Type 9 is contacting their own agenda and taking action on their own behalf, not just in service of other people.
