This was rich with great considerations when it comes to type! I resonated with the part where you talk about the difference between being the only person into type in a closed system, versus joining a community and an open system. It’s been really awesome learning so much in the profiler training and being with other curious people who have a lot of perspective to offer! It feels healthier too than being in my own loop with the info.
I also was thinking about what you said about the difference between accessing the wisdom of your driver function versus just using it, and being overconfident in that use. It got me processing my relationship with Ni (perspectives) and how for so many years I would isolate myself and consider (aka speculate) the possible motivations of people in my life. I was trying to understand people without the vulnerability of engaging with them. I think training as a therapist really pushed me to engage more- to ask if my insight was resonating and to be more open to new information or even correction. I think I grew in humility through this process, and now I don’t spend as much time on my own replaying conversations, I engage more and ask them what they meant with curiosity- this not only gave me better information that my Ti really liked cuz it was more accurate, but also grew relationships. It seems like as I reflect, the wisdom of Ni became more accessible when paired with my Fe (Harmony). I imagine this is a pattern :). Love the show! Thanks for all you do!
Thanks Caron for the feedback and comments. ~ Joel
Absolutely AWESOME podcast!
You put so many answers to my frustrations all in 1 podcast.
I get so frustrated talking with others about P-types, now I know how to reason with others on these points in a systematic way.
Or even just with myself when I doubt everything due to 1 discrepancy.
Thank you!
- My inferior, uncertain, Ti thanks you tremendously – 😅
