I’m really glad this question was asked. It helped a lot to remember that traits and behaviors don’t necessarily match up with the cognitive functions, especially when you remember to look at the entire system running of a person. I’ve always typed as INFJ and related to the cognitive functions and advice. I’ve recently questioned if I was INFP or ISFP based on other websites descriptions of Perceivers being passive aggressive, docile, and quiet about opinions verses Judgers who are aggressive and loud about their opinions. I was letting this one behavior description throw me off since I’m not comfortable socially or with sharing my opinions. Often, I struggle to know how I feel or think, especially around people. I knew I never related strongly to Fi, Ne, or Se but was getting confused by this one outlier. My passiveness makes sense in light of my family environment I grew up in which encouraged self-deflation and sweeping conflict under the rug over expressing oneself. My own personal history with social anxiety and diagnosis for Enneagram 9 Sexual/self-pres dominant with social repressed also helps explain why I’m more comfortable one-on-one verses group settings. I’m thankful for this as a reminder since INFJ has helped me so much with personal growth.
Thanks again for the great insight and information!
I’ll be joining the Typing class one of these days lol. It’s been a goal for years now.

Hi Luke- I haven’t heard of the descriptions you mention about Perceivers versus Judgers, and I am an MBTI practitioner. I don’t think that’s accurate, so I hope that helps. I think possibly what it is, is that perceivers are less likely to “fight” for their opinions, but truthfully that “fight” on opinions/values typically comes from Fi (introverted feeling) so those types that fight more for their values are INFPs and ISFPs. INFPs do it on a more global scale with issues that affect humanity, and ISFPs more related to themselves, friends and family, and things in their immediate environment. Although, that does not mean that an INFJ (or any other type) wouldn’t do it if their principles were stepped on.
Anyway, I loved this podcast! I am an INFJ, and have always known I am an INFJ, but a lot of people tell me that I go with the flow. I always think in my head though, that I do go with the flow but only to a certain extent. I can be spontaneous until suddenly I hit a wall and I can’t be anymore. I need to “J” out, lol and I will get frustrated and irritable, which triggers me to know my boundary has been met.
Oh, and lastly, I am certainly not superhuman haha. I (probably) have more anxiety than the general population and I second-guess every decision I make. Yikes.
