PHQ | QUESTIONS FROM COMMUNITY: In this episode, Joel and Antonia answer a listener question about FP types and NF types and why they are not often portrayed as the bad guys in movies.

In this podcast you’ll find:

    • Most of the writers and creators in Hollywood are Intuitive Feelers (NF) or Introverted Feelers (Fi). They will write a villain as their exact opposite.
    • They will favor their worldview and view the opposite type as the oppressor.
    • Villains that are FPs are going to be much more nuanced and take longer to develop.
    • Perfume – Dark Character ISFP – beautiful darkness – highly nuanced – writer likely exploring own inner darkness
    • Villains that are black and white are usually Thinker Judgers (TJ). Either ETJ or ITJ.
    • Typically the self-expression and individuality of Fi buts heads with somebody who is trying to create an organization of evil that objectifies people.
    • Hunger Games – all TJs who were trying to organize the world were the bad guys.
    • More darkly nuanced villains, NFs, are more likely to show up in a series because there is more time to develop the character.
    • The standard box office film has less time to develop character, so TJs are the easy go-to for villains.
    • Most chilling villains end up being TPs.
    • Marlo in The Wire is very chilling. Probably an INTP.
    • Harry Potter Dolores Umbridge probably an ESFJ. She was the oppressor of Harry Potter, who was probably an introverted feeler (Fi).
    • The characters that are not commonly thought to be bad guys are sometimes the most chilling.
    • Reluctant heroes fall in Fi spectrum.
    • Rare to find chilling characters that are using Fi.
    • Most likely, you will find the villains as the standard oppressor to Fi, which is usually Extraverted Thinkers.
    • Cersei in Game of Thrones might be ISFP. Dedication to children combined with egocentric belief that she is outthinking everyone when she really isn’t.

I think Megamind and Doofenshmirtz (from Phineas and Ferb) are both ENFPs. I also suspect that Davey Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean is an INFP. Just some examples of villains who might use Fi. :)

Hey, I’m wondering why you think that Umbridge’s decorating style (pink/cats) is related to Fe? Thanks!
