Thank you for this épisode, I totally recognise parts of myself in it.
I’ve been in a relationship for several years and my sneaky way of seeking freedom is caring about my partner’s freedom and space, secretly hoping to have the same favor returned XD
Very interesting insights on couple dynamics, thanks again !
Amazing episode, barely a few seconds into the first one and I already feel extremely called out. Time to do some growth work.
My entire school experience was basically this – I would take well over the number of recommended subjects, while running 3 different clubs and actively involved in many more, and volunteering everywhere under the sun. Anyone on the outside looked at me and saw an extremely responsible and mature person who couldn’t possibly have an issue with commitment.
But why was I doing it? Because if I committed to absolutely everything, then I always had a choice. Because “I’m doing so many subjects” was a get-out-of-jail-free card any time I didn’t feel like putting the proper work into any of them. Because if I ran the clubs, then they worked on my terms, and no-one could tie me down into actual long-term commitment if I called all the shots and always controlled the direction.
Just goes to show that anytime you think you’ve reached the end of a growth path, you definitely haven’t XD
