Had to read the book after listening to the podcast. Thanks for this. I think you’ve gone over the best parts. The only other thing I’d add is the idea of recognizing a secret that know else has noticed…but you kind of did. Lol

One thing That would be cool for PHQ to go over is the parts of the book that go over the things like his views on capitalism and Globalization vs Technology. I know it wasn’t the point of the book…But just found those parts interesting.

Awesome. This podcast made me excited all over again! Meyers Briggs has valuable benefits, but ultimately it’s only a stepping stone in my personal growth journey. I’m always more interested in the deeper conversation, and moving that needle is a concept I’ve been noodling on for a while. I have all these ideas that float around in my head, and you guys always seem to be able pull that grey goop out of my mind and put it into actual words.
This gives me so much more brain food to marinate on… 🙂

Thank you for the invitation to join the conversation. I understand that your goal in developing the podcast and the company is not just to add to or improve on what is already available in terms of personality tests and profiling. What you want is to radically transform the way in which people discover their types, use the information and fulfil their role in the social ecosystem.
I suspect that the answer will lie in big data. Personality typing is not like Uber, where technology needs to link a network of users in real time. Rather, it is like retail marketing, where data from consumer spending can be loaded into a system and analysed to detect patterns and so predict what individuals will be interested in. Right now, the methodology is to ask test candidates to answer questions about their own behaviour. Surely, a more accurate way to track behaviour would be to literally intercept behaviour at the point of action using some kind of app.
In the development phase of such an app, I envisage something similar to the kind of research done into happiness, where people who are already typed in the MBTI system are contacted several times a day and asked simple questions like, “Are you alone or with company?”. This would enable the developers to see if the test questions produce good results in the field. Then, once the typing has taken place, the app could deliver reminders and suggestions aimed at growing the person’s auxiliary function. Finally, the app could provide a networking platform for people of the same type to connect with each other and share their experiences.
I hope there is something of value here for you to consider. I’m an INTP who is committed to conceptual innovation, and PHP is an invaluable source of inspiration on my personal growth journey.
