I am just catching up on several of the podcasts I missed over the summer and just finished listening to this one. I am so glad that you have chosen to share this tool and your perspectives on this with the listening community. I particularly loved the distinction you make between experiencing gratitude as an emotion and gratitude as a perception. For me personally, everything in this episode is deeply affirming.

Years ago, I made an exercise out of writing short, powerful statements about the values I want to live by and Gratitude was one of them. Listening to this podcast today just deepens my belief in the incredibly positive power of Gratitude. Thank you for that. This is what I wrote and what I try to live by:

“I embrace Gratitude as an essential component of happiness and contentment. I recognize that my existence, being not of my doing, is a profound gift. As such, everything I experience merits my thanks. I practice Gratitude as an antidote to entitlement and hardness. It informs and strengthens the ability to forgive, to release pain and suffering, and it affirms the belief that life, and every being in it, is inherently good.”

Thank you for the opportunity to share! I am very grateful for the benefit you are putting out into the world.
