I’m 2 videos in, starting the Breathwork, but the first impression that’s come to mind is how empowered I feel to learn this type of subject from someone like Dario Nardi—I’m no stranger to Yoga but it’s only been the Hatha style, and some instructors I’ve encountered in the past have tried to “pepper in” some chakra stuff but with no structure or seriousness to it (and I’m not altogether confident these folks really knew what they were talking about).
Dario puts a sense of serious, and from a technologist’s point of view, relatable structure and competence into the practice. I’m really excited to see how this is going to turn out for me and I’m taking my time, and giving it its due. Learning from an INTJ Mastermind is awesome.
It is so frustrating to see any argumentative factions have a, “Nope, you’re either morally wrong or stupid,” approach to the other. I’m not much of one for political debates, partially because that is 80% of what I see both the left and right sides (referring to USA politics) doing to the other.
I also personally don’t see much of a correlation between MBTI and political parties. At least, from my limited, inevitably biased viewpoint, I don’t see any significant pattern. I mean, politically conservative views remind me of Si, and politically liberal views remind of me of Ne a little bit, but I don’t see much of a correlation between the parties and the personalities of individual people who rally behind them.
Of course, I’m open to being wrong! If anyone has a statistics set that proves my guess wrong, I’d be fascinated to see.
When I heard the 3 of you describing the feeling function I had an ah ha moment. I had previously heard in psych studies conservatives were found to be feelers and liberals leaned towards logic. I, as an INTJ, was shocked to see the political comments in our local newspaper and have found it very frustrating trying to respond with logic and facts. Basically an exercise in futility. The comments are rife with projection (they keep screaming about our feelings and accuse us of doing what they’re doing), nonnegotiable (stiff in their minds and thinking) and their logic is nonexistent (their reasoning is garbage) and they idealize the people on their side who can do no wrong and demonize (Demonrats) the people on the left who can do no right. Thank you for this insight. Maybe it’s time to stop beating my head against a wall.
as an ENFP I’ve had a very difficult time keeping Te away from my body-mind practices. I always seem to eventually end up rushing through a practice to get it done, even when i’m not in a hurry! The longest i went without this becoming a problem was about 2.5 years with Wim Hof’s breathing techniques, but all of a sudden i was getting tense and rigid every time i did the breathing. I’m trying to figure out how to approach breathing again because i absolutely loved it! My INFJ girlfriend has tired to gently nudge me into learning yoga and I’ve stubbornly avoided it, but this gave me a new window to look at it through. Very helpful for me to hear Joel speak about the fear of showing up like a crazy intuitive because i definitely project my insecurities onto the spiritual community. hope this made sense!
