Something personally interesting I just learned is that my driver is my wife’s 10-year-old and her driver is my 10-year-old. Excited to explore this more and hopefully shine a light on something in the dark
What does Ne look like as a flare up?
Something that dovetails with this really well is the concept of sub-personalities from the Inner Family Systems therapy method. (see sfhelp.org or Pete Gerlach). “Protector sub-personalities” emerge to protect “inner child(den)” from feeling excessive shame or guilt. Using the term “protector sub-personalities” rather than “defence mechanisms” reduces feelings of shame when one’s behaviour becomes irrational etc.
